About Ascent

Ascent was formed by a core group of people whose drive was to be something better. Their determination and drive formed a guild that has become one of the more respected Guilds on the realm of Arathor.  Quickly after the release of Wrath of the Lich King, Ascent was among the 1^st guilds to clear its content.  Our raiders hold a high standard of excellence and sense of achievement, when reaching our goals.  We anxiously await what is to come and to be among the first to accept its challenge. Our current raid schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6pm – 9:00pm PST. Invites are at 5:45pm

 

Recruitment

 Ascent is an End Game Content raiding guild. As such, we are not motivated by Loot, but by seeing all in game content to the fullest. We only recruit for active raid spots, and you will be on a trial basis until we think it will work for both you and the guild. Your application will be posted in the recruitment section of our forums, and we welcome feedback from you on your app and our comments.

Requirements

Gear Requirements: You should be equipped with ToC 10/Badge equivalent gear or better.  You should have the highest quality, appropriate PvE enchants (including Sons of Hodir exalted shoulder inscription) and epic gems in all of your equipment. This is to show us that you have the drive and motivation to be a raider.

Talent Requirements: You must have a PvE talent spec and be willing to respec if we ask you to do so, every class can benefit others. “The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few”. We also expect you to be familiar with your class, what talents/stats will help you optimize performance and ultimately take down the bosses.

Play-style Requirements: If you habitually go /afk or don’t pull your weight, do not apply. Anything can happen with new encounters. You must be able to think for yourself and be able to adjust quickly.;

Attendance Requirements: You must make 75% or more of all scheduled raids. We prefer members who approach 100% attendance. If you cannot make a scheduled raid, you must make a post or let an officer know before the raid that you will be unable to attend and post on the attendance forum. Please put one of these sentences/phrases in the "Reasons to Join" section of your application to prove that you pay attention and follow instructions: “omg Gan’s sisters are so hot!” “Kai has enough money to make the Monopoly guy look like he’s on welfare.” “Pere, there is a ball of yarn over the edge!” “Can someone mute Maris please?!” Have a stable connection and able to stay the entire duration of the raid.

 

Loot Distribution

Loot is handled in by a Loot Council. This council is made up of the Officers of Ascent. It will be decided by the council, whom the loot would most benefit. Favorites are not played, everything is done on a “What’s best for the Guild” mentality.

 

Our Environment

Our raid, vent, and guild chats often contain harsh language, off-color jokes, and sexual content. You will also need to be comfortable with receiving constructive criticism from both the officers and your fellow guild mates. This may include comments on your spec, gem choices, talent choices, etc. We try to maintain an enjoyable gaming environment, but if you are easily offended or not receptive to criticism, then this guild is not for you.

 

Guild Bank

Raiders have full access to the guild bank for repairs up to 1 hour after the conclusion of the evenings Raid.  The guild bank also provides some food, flasks, elixirs and potions to its raiding members.
