Signups

Signups will be handled via the In-Game Calendar. To reserve your spot in a raid you must sign up on the calendar. If you do not, it is assumed you cannot attend and your spot will be forfeited on or before designated raid time. If you can't make a raid, please post on the attendance section of the forums and/or tell an officer.

Raid Times

Raids will start at the designated time. If you have signed up and are not on by the designated time, your spot may be forfeited to someone else at the Raid Leader's/Officer discretion. If you have signed up that you will be attending, and are not online and ready to go at start time, your spot will be filled.

Start times posted on raid signups are for when the raid will be filled. The first pull will take place five minutes after the raid filled time allowing for buffs and making a sandwich. Do not be late, your spot will be filled if you are not online and at the instance at the posted time. This will happen at the Raid Leader's discretion. As an example, a posted raid signup is for 6 p.m. The raid will be filled at 5:55, alternates will fill empty slots at this time, and first pull happens at 6pm. The intent of this is not to be hardcore, but to set a focused tone and prevent frustration by players that are on time before the night even starts. Please be considerate and understanding of the rest of your raid team and do your best to be ready on time.

If you are online and ready by start time and someone with a slot has not yet shown up, you may be called on to replace the latecomer. The Raid Leader/Officers will make notes on the latecomers and no shows. Too many incidents and it may affect their chances of getting into future raids.

If an emergency comes up where you have to leave, please inform the Raid Leader/Officers. Those who repeatedly sign up and leave after an hour or two with no explanation will be made note of by the Raid Leader. Too many incidents and it may affect their chances of getting into future raids.

Eligibility

To be considered for rotation spots within the group you must post in the forums your eligibility. You must state that you can arrive on time, are keyed, and can stay the full length of time. You must also state that you can raid both days of the week to be considered.

New players. Raid leader may schedule players based upon experience. Please, understand that learning and tackling new bosses requires a level knowledge of the instance. Inexperienced players may be substituted in such a situation. Newly recruited members may join us on trial raids and/or heroic runs. Raids will be on a probationary basis, if the new raider gives just cause to be removed from the raid, the leader will do so. Appropriate action may be taken, and a spot may not be assigned to them in the future.

Raid Spec & Role

At times, you may be asked to play your character in a manner in which you may not be accustomed. An example of this might be asking mages to dedicate themselves’ to de-curse duty and to forgo any dps during certain boss fights. This would indicate that the guild needs you to perform in a specific way in order to overcome an encounter. At these times, we ask that you trust the raid leader to know what they are doing and play as suggested.

Each member is responsible to maintain a certain degree of knowledge of the game and to play their characters appropriately. We all make mistakes and are not perfect, but blatant fooling around or constant lack of attention span may get a person de-guilded. If we see a fellow member having problems grasping a strategy or skill, we by all means try to help them overcome that obstacle. But in the end they are responsible for their play level maintaining a consistent quality.

You may be asked to respec your character for raiding, if the following conditions apply: when the guild feels it has too little variance of spec’s within a class and needs the said variance for a purpose on encounters. The last case would be if a member is having problems performing at a consistent level of play and it is felt that a respec may help. We prefer you work on a balance of specs with your fellow class members.

Behavior during Raids

During raids, you MUST follow the raid leader at all times. He/She should be the sole voice of authority during raids. Suggestions are welcome following wipes but do not argue with the raid leader. Doing so will result in immediate removal from the raid. You must also notify a Officer or the raid leader before you go AFK. If you repeatedly go AFK without telling a an Officer or raid leader, you will be removed from the raid. Of course if you don't understand the instructions or have never done the encounter before, ASK QUESTIONS!! The only stupid question is the one that is not asked! We understand that our conversations can become off color, If you are offended due to the nature of the conversation please notify the raid leader an the officers. We want everyone to have a fun time raids without causing drama. That being said, If an Officer or raid leader asks for the conversation to stop, make it so.

 10 Mans

The guild is not responsible for taking your character to any 10 man raid. If you are a new applicant to Ascent this means that you are welcome to continue running 10 man content with your friends or an old guild. Many people in Ascent are interested in 10 mans and will run them as a group but these are not officially guild sponsored events.
